May 7, 2020 -- Wichita State University is proud to recognize Irene Campos as the winner of the 2020 Mark and Stacy Parkinson Scholarship.

April 16, 2020 -- While hospitals and doctors’ offices are seen as the battlegrounds against COVID-19, there’s another group of medical professionals who are also on the front line: home health care workers.

April 15, 2020 -- Hanna Bates-Crosby is currently a nursing student at Wichita State University. She recently volunteered to work in New York City as a nurse during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

April 15, 2020 -- Krista Giggy, a Wichita State University alumna and nurse anesthetist, volunteers for a team to treat critical COVID-19 patients at a New Hampshire hospital.

April 13, 2020 - Wichita State University and Kansas State University will launch a dual-degree program that will give students the opportunity to earn both a Bachelor of Science from the College of Health and Human Sciences at K-State and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the College of Health Professions at WSU. This is the first and only program of its kind in Kansas.

Feb. 5, 2019 -- Bryant Lewis from Olathe Kansas received the Linwood Sexton Endowed Scholarship in 2019. The full-ride scholarship allowed him to pursue his dream of attending WSU.

Dec. 16, 2019 -- Courtney Powers, music director at South Philadelphia High School, is in the running for a Grammy of her own for her work in music education. She is currently one of 25 quarterfinalists for the award.

Dec. 4, 2019 -- Nayeli Cano is passionate about helping people and wants to work with underrepresented communities to provide equal access to health care for those in need. 

Dec. 4, 2019 -- Javier Martinez and Jonathan Lozano hadn’t even intended to earn Wichita State’s inaugural Parkinson Scholarship in 2018, but they did. Both first-generation college students share their stories of adversity and triumph and offer words of encouragement for future first-gen college hopefuls.

Dec. 2, 2019 -- Gabrielle Owens surrounded herself with strong mentors she could look to when she doubted herself at Wichita State. She also took advantage of the opportunities offered through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to successfully complete her master’s degree.

Nov. 14, 2019 -- Junior business management major Maribel Sanchez is taking full advantage of the opportunities provided by Wichita State. She is a first-generation student, Gore Scholar, studied abroad in the Netherlands this past summer and was invited to speak at a national conference.

Nov. 7, 2019 -  Levi Lowe, a senior majoring in applied computing and psychology is a first generation student who works 40 hours a week. Lowe works to pay for school on his own but was awarded a scholarship to help make ends meet.

Nov. 5, 2019 – The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at Wichita State is hosting the first Pediatric Feeding group to help picky eaters and problem feeders.

Oct. 17, 2019 - Senior industrial engineering student Sydney Jaeger is making the most of her college experience. It’s not always easy, but she finds a way to balance time as an engineering intern, student, member of WSU Cheer and a campus leader.

Sept. 17, 2019 – Wichita State University and Kansas State University have combined resources and started the planning phase of a program that will give students the opportunity to earn both a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Health and Human Sciences at KSU, and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN) from the College of Health Professions (CHP) at WSU.
